For me, what makes a good whisky is one that is simple enough to be approachable, but complex enough to deal with whatever it ends up alongside in a glass. What we have in COPPER DOG is a whisky that has this resilience and versatility. To me, COPPER DOG is a true representation of the region.

Speyside
Speyside

Speyside is a whisky wonderland.

The region is a stunning mix of rivers, bens, and glens, dotted with pretty and historic towns. And it’s home to more than 50 distilleries, making some of the world’s finest malts. Since the early 19th century distillers have legally produced sweet, fruity malt whiskies. Speyside is the place to come to taste malts laden with green and exotic fruits, or for sherried malts with orange and berry fruits.

Man’s best friend! The Copper Dog is a copper cylinder attached to a chain. Lower it in to the cask, fill with whisky and conceal it in your trouser leg. Some might call it theft. We like to see it as a harmless reward for a job well done. We call our whisky Copper Dog to pay tribute to the maverick whisky workers who have ensured that Speyside malts are still the finest in the world.
